The better part of a year in the making.

I am very excited about teaming up with Japans Double Helix Works to make something very special only for The Shop Vancouver.

Our Western Cowboy 2 exclusive collaboration jacket, uses an insanely supple 1.5mm aniline, pigment free finished, oiled and wax Horsehide. 

To give you an idea of how special this jacket is. Only about 2-3% of raw hides meet the quality standards for the leather we used on this jacket, and it shows. 

The hand on this jacket is truly next level. 

The Western Cowboy 2 features 

2 Riveted front breast pockets, one with a flap closure and one open. 

1.3-1.5mm Oiled, waxed, pigment free aniline finished horsehide. 

Vintage style "Union Made" buttons 

1930s style buckle back. 

100% cotton lining with our custom woven The Shop Vancouver tag. 

Sizing. 

These fit pretty true to size.

I'm just shy of 6'1" around 185Lbs . 

I personally wear a size 40in this piece.

For comparison I wear

40 in Schott 613

40 in Fine Creek and most Y2 leather jackets. 

42 in our Y2 Westerns Collaborations

Large in Iron heart UHF Western shirts. 

Typically a Medium in most North American brands

Large in Japanese

Typical to any denim style cut leather jackets, these feel tight across the back until the leather is worn and opens up to your personal shape. 

If you have broad shoulders, you may want to consider sizing up.

OILED WAX HORSEHIDE

　Double helix is ​​the first time that oiled horse leather has been made. The most distinctive feature is that the oil is slowly soaked in, and the texture that fits in your hand is comfortable, and the depth increases as you use it, giving it a luxurious look. There is no other material that gives you a sense of sophistication and dignity while having a leather-like texture. The material that is considered to be beautiful after aging is not only the high quality of raw leather, but also the material with a high degree of perfection as dye leather.

I am beyond excited to share with you our First collaboration piece The Tom Western from Y2 Leather our of Japan

We took their classic Western shirt using water-dyed steer oil and used our own combination dyed Vintage Pony 

The Combination dying process leaves the brown core of the hide to be able to come through the lustrous black coating over time as it ages. 

At first the 1-1.2mm thick hide is fairly stiff but quickly takes shape and will turn into a piece that you will absolutely love for years to come. 

Testing my own personal western I've worn it on and off the bike, in the pouring rain and even in the snow.. 

I was surprised at how well this piece kept me dry.. and I have been blown away by how well this is not only worn as an over shirt , but a light jacket that I've been layering all winter.  

These fit on the snug side so please read the sizing chart and ask questions if you have any 

I personally measure 39." around the chest , and usually wear a size 40

I wear a Size Large Ironheart UHF,

Medium in most North American sized tops and Large in those made in Japan .. 

and I wear a Size 42 in this shirt, 

I had a buddy of mine come in today who measures 45" snug and 46 comfortably , Wears an XXL in an Ironheart UHF , XL in North American shirts like Dehen , XXL in Japanese, and he wears a 48 in these. 

In general most people seem to go one size up from what they measure. 

If you're a 42 chest order a 44 ect , as they seem to fit about one full size small.

Very hyped to announce that our books are open on our Newest rendition of our Tom Horse Hide Western Shirt Collaboration with Y2 Leather out of Japan. 

I am beyond excited to share with you our latest collaboration piece The Pablo from Y2 Leather our of Japan

Working of the success of our first collaboration based off their classic Western shirt using using a light horse, this time around we decided to go with the indigo dyed horse that they are known for 

Indigo on horse hide is an extremely difficult process that not many tanneries are willing to to even attempt.

The most popular "42 series" among single riders.

It is sold in various leather materials such as steer oil and horsehide, but the HV hose is the most popular.

 The silhouette is a little tight, but the action pleats on the back make it easy to move.

Putting this on , they fit pretty much true to size . I wear a 40 in most jackets and wore the 40 in this without issue. 

the Pleats and bi swing on the back , are a very nice addition !

These hides are shrunk by up to 20% to give it its thick rough character that will ease over time to shape to its new owner.

Stitched with a heavy brown thread to match the beautiful Veg Tan Horse with a brown base, That will show as the jacket ages
