Putting this on, they fit pretty much true to size . I wear a 40 in most jackets and wore the 40 in this without issue.

What happens when you take an amazing , simple 1930s design and combo it with an absolutely insane 2mm olive eco horse hide ?

My goodness.  MAGIC !

If you've seen our heavy eco western shirt collaboration with Y2,

you already know how amazing this leather looks with wear...

Using the same process as our heavy weight eco western shirt, this leather is heavily soaked in oils and then shrunk up to 20% to give it its approx 1.8mm thickness. 

At the start it's stiff and very rigid, DON'T BE SCARED ! because it quickly takes shape and becomes something truly special. 

The jacket features a 1930s design, contrast white stitching, a slightly lower than usual yoke, Cotton, wool, Linen blend lining and a beautiful set of corozo buttons (below is a great video from 1922, of an old button factory making corozo buttons)

For y2, 15 years ago, while riding motorcycles in an old cotton USN jacket, 
The idea of making this jacket out of leather was born. 

Borrowing from the classic and the Aniline horse N1 we've had in the past, the Eco Horse was born.

The Eco horse is approx 1.3mm thick and gets its enchanting gloss and rich oily texture from the finishing process where the
leather is saturated with oil and finished with only aniline dye which enhances the colour while allowing the natural grain to show through.

With the same cut as our super popular IB-140 Indigo Dyed Type 1 

Y2 is offering a new option in with the KB-140-T 

a traditionally Japanese persimmon astringent that is extremely difficult to apply on leather. 

This Eco friendly dye produces a leather that will age with the best of them over time with UV light causing the jacket to change colour.  

This jacket is typically worn snug, I am pretty standard a 40 in most US sizing , 

I currently wear a size 40 in the IB-140 , which is quite snug. 

I can wear a 42 but being tall and slim I prefer the fit of the 40 .

Here is what They say about the Jacket Translated into English ..

Dye the horsehide with indigo. I used the "indigo hose" made by that very difficult method.

First type G denim.

Denim is good, but I also recommend this horsehide, which is a bit different.

The stitches use a thick orange count like denim, and the stitches are sewn so that they are sewn into the leather.

The thickness of the leather is around 1.3mm, which is not so thick, so it is also recommended that it be easy to wear.

I love that ... 

More or less , this is a very difficult process to master, and to do it with the horse hide they use on these jackets is really amazing. 

Ive been wearing mine for about 7 months now and its just getting better and better. 

they colour has darkened a little bit and its a real show stopper. 

I wear mine like i would a denim jacket from the 30s , snug and shorter.. I love it.

Very hyped to announce that our books are open on our Newest rendition of our Tom Horse Hide Western Shirt Collaboration with Y2 Leather out of Japan. 

I am beyond excited to share with you our latest collaboration piece from Y2 Leather our of Japan

Working off the success of our first collaboration the Tom ( SK-13 ) Western shirt using a light horse of 1mm.

The Henry ( ES-13 ) Western uses the Eco Horse hide that has been heavily oiled and shrunk 20% to produce a leather that has a thickness of 2mm.

Our initial run was made with a thickness of 1.8-2mm with our 1st run Production (March 2022) coming in slightly lighter between 1.5 and 1.8mm 

The Henry will be further stripped back to 1.3-1.5mm for future production

being so heavy, we have stripped it back to give it a better hand and wearability as a shirt 

at first this thick hide is fairly stiff, but quickly takes shape and will turn into a piece that you will absolutely love for years to come. 

I originally Tested my own personal horse hide western on and off the bike, in the pouring rain and even in the snow.. 

I was surprised at how well this piece kept me dry.. and I have been blown away by how well this is not only worn as an over shirt , but a light jacket that I've been layering all winter.

I personally measure 39." around the chest , and usually wear a size 40

I wear a Size Large Ironheart UHF,

I had a buddy of mine come in today who measures 45" snug and 46 comfortably , Wears an XXL in an Ironheart UHF , XL in North American shirts like Dehen , XXL in Japanese, and he wears a 48 in these. 

In general most people seem to go one size up from what they measure. 

If you're a 42 chest order a 44 ect , as they seem to fit about one full size small.

Indigo on horse hide is an extremely difficult process that not many tanneries are willing to to even attempt. 

At first the 1-1.2mm thick hide is fairly stiff but quickly takes shape and will turn into a piece that you will absolutely love for years to come. 

I originally Tested my own personal horse hide western on and off the bike, in the pouring rain and even in the snow.. 

I was surprised at how well this piece kept me dry.. and I have been blown away by how well this is not only worn as an over shirt , but a light jacket that I've been layering all winter.

We took their classic Western shirt using water-dyed steer oil and used our own combination dyed Vintage Pony 

The Combination dying process leaves the brown core of the hide to be able to come through the lustrous black coating over time as it ages. 

At first the 1-1.2mm thick hide is fairly stiff but quickly takes shape and will turn into a piece that you will absolutely love for years to come.

I personally measure 39" around the chest , and usually wear a size 40 , Size Large Iron heart UHF , Medium in most North American pieces and Large in Japanese .. 

I wear a Size 42 in this shirt, 

I had a buddy of mine come in today who measures 45" snug and 46 comfortably , Wears an XXL in an Iron heart UHF , XL in North American shirts like Dehen , XXL in Japanese, and he wears a 48 in these.
